Seven games into the season, the Lizards are within striking distance of the league-leading Dallas Rattlers. With a record of 3-4, the ‘Zards are counting on a strong second half to make up ground in the Major League Lacrosse standings. All the ‘Zards Lacrosse News you need to Know

New York started off the season strong with a big four-goal win against the Denver Outlaws at Hofstra’s Shuart Stadium.

The ‘Zards A-game was also on display in two other important victories against the Florida Launch and the Atlanta Blaze.

New York will next square off against the Charlotte Hounds on Saturday, June 16 at home. The following Saturday the ‘Zards head to Boston to face the Cannons, one of their oldest rivals.

Paul Rabil makes Lacrosse History

On June 9, Paul Rabil walked into the Major League Lacrosse history books. He scored his 542nd career point, breaking John Grant, Jr.’s previous mark.

Rabil, who was acquired from Boston in 2015, already has two championships under his belt and is shooting for a third. Now in his 11th season, #99 continues to add to the argument that he is truly the GOAT.

‘Zards Leading the Charge

Your 2018 New York Lizards are one of the most talented crews in the game today. From attackman Rob Pannell to goalie Drew Adams, it is tough to find a more impressive roster.

Rob Pannell

Once again, Rob Pannell is making Major League Lacrosse news on a weekly basis. He leads the league in points scored with 18 goals and a league-high 26 assists. Pannell, a Long Island native, has established himself as one of the game’s best players.

Drew Adams

Drew Adams, who has been with the team since 2009, is having another stellar season in net. Through the first seven games, he has made 110 saves. Adams will be one of nine New York Lizards representing Team USA at the World Championships in Israel this summer.

Will Manny

Last year’s big acquisition, Will Manny, is one of the top ten scorers in Major League Lacrosse this year. The Lizards midfielder has contributed more than 30 points through June 9. As a result of his impressive efforts, Manny was named to the 2018 MLL All-Star Team, his fourth straight selection.

Joe Walters

Joe Walters will make lacrosse news this summer with his ninth appearance in the mid-summer classic, the most among current participants. Walters and his all-star teammates will face-off against Team USA.

Two New All-Star ‘Zards

Defenseman Matt Landis has made a big impact in his very first year with Lizards. He will make his first MLL All-Star Game appearance on June 28 at Harvard Stadium. Rookie midfielder Joel Tinney will join Landis for the big game.
